Today we begin the book of Ephesians. The primary goal of this blog is to encourage Bible reading (not to encourage blog reading).
So, as a sort of pilot, for this study I will change the format to 3 simple questions: detail, principle, invitation. As the terms suggest, we will look for some details in the passage, a key idea or principle, and then consider how God might be inviting us to respond.
Hopefully this will mean less time blogging, and more time - and more meaningful time - interacting with God through his word.
Detail
From vv. 3-14, make a short list of all the things that have happened (are happening) to the believer.
Principle
What is the gist of Paul's prayer for the Christians living in Ephesus (vv. 15-23)?
Invitation
When we recognize what God has done for us in sending Jesus and sending the Holy Spirit, and we think about our identity in Christ, and we think about God's "incomparably great power" (v. 19) ... are we motivated to pray? Discuss.
