Detail

In vv. 11-13, what ministry gifts has Jesus given, what is the purpose of them, and until when are they necessary?

Principle

In vv. 22-24, we read, "... put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness." Based on what you read throughout the chapter, make a list of "old self" characteristics and a list of "new life."

Invitation

Perhaps the key verse in this chapter, and a sort of pivot point given what Paul has written in Chapters 1-3, we read in v. 1, "... I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received." In the next two verses, Paul describes how some of this unfolds: humility, gentleness, patience, love, unity, and peace - all expressed in community. In some of these ways, or other ways, how might God be calling you - today - to live out your calling to following Jesus? (Tried to be as specific as you can.)
